Are you kidding me??

Trust me! I grew up in an Italian family - parents from Bari and Sicily. Buca is FAR FROM REAL ITALIAN FOOD! It has a nice, fun and friendly atmosphere, but the food at best is average. The pictures on the wall are great to look at - in fact, that would be the only reason I would return to Buca. Sorry, but if you're looking for authentic Italian food, this is not the place.

Get cozy with friends and family and enjoy an Italian feast at this loved-by-locals restaurant.

THE BEST PLACE FOR SHY PEOPLE AND GREAT FOR EXTROVERTS!

This place is full of things to talk about , from the beautiful celebrity people (not the hannah montana type) but the real good ol' talent type, like Sophia Loren, which by the way you will notice the many many photos of her hangin on the walls... to the rooms decor for example: THE POPE ROOM...GREAT FOR ALL OF YOU WHO WALK AROUND WITH AN ENTOURAGE ;P

i just hope you dont mind the pope hanging out with you while you eat ( THINK Marie Antionette) but dont be scared its wicked cool...

BAD PART : its a little $$... ORDER THE PIZZA OR LEMON CHICKEN (CHICKEN FRANCHESE)

• Pros: BEFORE YOU DINE THEY TAKE YOU ON A TOUR STARTING WITH THE KITCHEN, DID I MENTION THERES EVEN SEATING AVAILABLE IN THE ACTUAL KITCHEN
• Cons: If you're sitting in the kitchen seating remember people will be passing you by all the time

Kudos to the Woodlands TX Bucca Di Beppo location

This is my 1st "rating" for an Houston area restuarant. The Woodlands TX location was discovered because my husband's office is within "lunch" hours...we started visiting it at night and found the location to be "customer-oriented, fun, informative, excellent in service, full of ambience, family-oriented, reasonably priced, & delicious,with family-sized portions. Over the past year, we have introduced many other family and friends to this establishment, with positive reviews! For the food selections, my husband is the "spaghetti & meatballs" guy, while I prefer the Alfredo-based sauces, but we both agree on the salad and bread appetizers! This is one of our favorite Italian restaurants....

Great place for a group dinner to eat, talk, drink and be loud (if needed).

The only time that I have been here was for a birthday dinner. It was a large group and we had a room all to ourselves. The food was average for hosting such a large party, about 45 people. The enviroment was great and the service was decent considering everybody was wanting something from them at all times. Overall, I would only recommend this place for a group dinner, otherwise stick to your local favorite Italian restaurant.

It gives Italian food a very BAD taste!!

I registered after years of using this service just so I can put my two-cents in on Buca, it is that bad. I can't believe this chain is so popular. It's just SAD. I guess so is McDonald's - food quality is not a requirement for being popular. I took my first Italy trip a couple of months ago, the food there was wonderful, simply and freshly done. It's hard to get a bad meal in Italy, in contrast, it's hard to get a good meal in Buca. The food was horrible but hey you got lots of it!

None of the meals I had in Italy tasted anything like in Buca di Beppo. Oh, what would the Italians say about Buca's food? They'd be horrified! Those scary looking meatballs, with giant cubes of butter? My friend, who is a meat and dairy fiend - can't throw a dinner party for six without using at least 6 sticks of butter and many pounds of meat, were disgusted with the oily dripping meatballs! I know it's a sure sign of how bad the food was when he can't stomach the food there. Overcooked pasta drench in oily sauces, the tomatoe sauces tasted very not fresh as if they were from cheap jar sauce with added oil and a few other things. The only thing I had that was actually edilble were the green beans, not overcooked. not from a can and only slightly oily. Please don't think of this place as an Italian restaurant, I don't know what it is, but it is NOT Italian. And it is definitely NOT Good. If you know food and enjoy fresh and good food, you won't like this place. Just don't!

Great dishes, excellent service, decent bar! Never a problem getting a table. Veal, Chicken and pasta dishes made to order. Shrimp Dishes I`d stay away from!

The 1830`s salad is a must taste!

Yes, if you are VERY hungry and don't care what you eat, this is the restaurant for you.

If you really know good Italian food, stay away. Portions are large and pasta is gummy. Their sauce tastes like it's straight out of the can without any seasoning.

I've been there twice at the Davie location. Last time, I found bermuda onions cooked into the sauce. Maybe they ran out of onions!

• Pros: seated promptly, parking is good
• Cons: food is terrible
