Our hotel was right
by MarkMP
Our hotel recommended casablanca after a few failed attempts on our own to find a nice dinner on the beach. we really enjoyed it! the atmosphere was a strange mix of fine restaurant, busy diner, and nightclub. downstairs, it was loud and crowded, with a band playing and a lively bar -- but we sat on an upstairs balcony which was quiet and romantic with an excellent view of the ocean. The menu was excellent, with a great variety. It was heavy on fish -- no surprise in florida, but there were several pasta dishes, duck, lamb, and four different steaks to chose from as well. As an appetizer, we had a shrimp cocktail, and our server suggested we pour a shot of Ketel 1 citron over it. I will never eat shrimp cocktail any other way now! We also had calamari, which was big enough to share, light and crisp, and served with a light butter sauce instead of marinara. For dinner I had pumpkin crusted wahoo, and my friend had flank steak served with salsa and polenta.I was surprised by how much I liked the wahoo and the portions were an excellent value. And instead of a traditional dessert, our server suggested a "dessert flavored cocktail" -- a banana split martini! They sure like to drink there! But speaking of our server, we also got one thing we couldn't find anywhere else on the beach -- actual service. The service was friendly and fun but still efficient and attentive, our table was kept clean and our silverware kept fresh. Our server knew the menu inside and out his suggestions were dead on. And what's more, everyone in the restaurant from the batenders to the bus boys boys made us feel like they'd known us for years even though we had never been there before. We hope the day comes when they have known us for years!
- Pros: Great food, service, fun
- Cons: crowded, noisy (except upstairs)
Music and Atmosphere

If you go for nothing else, go for the entertainment. The Duo on the weekends is fantastic.
The singer has been on tour and TV both are great!
liked a lot

Ambiance and food was very good. Service a little slow and utensils could be cleaner. Great view.

Our service wasn't bad, perse. I'm a waiter, so i know what its like to be busy. A little on the slow side at the beginning, but it was worth the wait. Excellent food all around, good and probably above average service, very busy restaurant. Great dining experience overall
- Pros: great food, great view of beach, nice atmosphere
- Cons: busy, loud

I work a t the Pillars Hotel just down the hill from the cafe...We send our guest to Casablanca all the time..It is the best restaurant on this stretch of A1A..We ALWAYS get a rave revies from our guests!!..the food is always fantastic..the view is great the upstairs is very romantic.....the outside patio can be really loud it seems voices echo off the walls...I suggest upstairs or on the balcony upstairs..or the elevated section to the left of the entrance....and the fried Calamari is the best I've ever had...Thomas Gibson
Great place for a celebration!!
by casablanca
We recently had a graduation celebration here and it was a fantastic success!! It was 21 people and we had a huge table in the upstairs dining room. The ambience was beautiful. The food was outstanding. The wait staff was absolutely wonderful, professional, friendly and efficient. We had alot of specific requests and they were carried out flawlessly. The only complaint I had: I wish management would've taken the time to make an effort to greet us, make sure everything was going smoothly and thank us for our business. But all in all..Casablanca Cafe is superb!!
- Pros: Romantic, Great Food, Great Service
Highly recommend this restaurant

Can't say enough about this restaurant. The ambiance is as great as the food, including the service as well.
- Pros: food, ambiance, service
Romantic oceanfront manse offers tasty but inconsistent Mediterranean cuisine and fine service.

The Scene
But for the cars whizzing by on A1A, this restored, two-story 1927 Mediterranean Revival house recreates the ambience of the piano bar where Bergman broke Bogie's heart. Moroccan lamps, lazily paddling ceiling fans and ochre-hued, rough stucco walls add cachet. Watch the moon rise over the Atlantic from the terrace or upstairs patio. Young servers are exuberant, friendly and efficient.
The Food
Vividly fresh Mediterranean Rim cuisine satisfies but at times falls short. Delicate raspberry vinaigrette flounders on sharply seasoned hearts of palm. Spicy Thai coconut mussels are superb, but bland duck galantine needs an aspic glaze or savory sauce enhancement. Moroccan charmoula, a pungent concoction of lemon, garlic and cilantro, is nowhere to be found on grilled sea bass over fluffy but bone-dry couscous. Pear and ginger-glazed duck and buttery basil chicken stand out. Mascarpone tart with glazed berries is exceptional.

Dining at Casablanca Cafe will transport you to another time and place. The food is good, the atmosphere great, and the service outstanding. This truly is one of the unique spots in South Florida, and it deserves to be recognized. I will be coming back for years to come.
- Pros: Ambience, Wine List, Service
- Cons: Parking
