Tips for Twenty Four Diner

OK, but needs work. Nice atmosphere, more like a casual family style restaurant than a diner. The food is decent, definitely made by a "diner cook" not a chef. The major problem seems to be they don't know what they want to be! (is it a diner or is it a casual-style restaurant?)

Great for breakfast, Salads are big, burgers are average, Sandwiches are OK. The daily specials generally are good and a good value, otherwise the menu is a bit overpriced for the type of food they serve.

The parking area is well lit and did't seem like a security risk (unlike another review) I have never seen any drug activity in the area. (Oakland Park Blvd. is a HEAVILY traveled street and between Wilton Manors PD, Broward Sheriffs, and the occasional passing Ft Lauderdale PD, it's not a popular place for illegal activity)

The staff is attentive. Sometimes too attentive. When business is slow, the servers will "check-in" at your table repeatedly ... over and over and over. "is everything OK?" ... "is everything OK?" etc. etc. etc. (Good service is everything, but it's a little overwhelming and annoying)

Bottom line: Not bad for a quick bite to eat. A little pricey for what you get. Staff is average.

Disappointing Experience. I had eaten Breakfast here when it initially opened - every weekend. Food was good, waitresses were older and on the ball. Sadly the primarily gay clientele has turned to crystal meth users, the staff is younger and snottier (one of the waiters was looking out the window to chweck his car snice it was just broken into dags ago) On top of this I witnessed a drug deal in the parking lot. Sitting in a diner that looks like Long John Silvers (it was formerly CC's Fish Camp and the new owners have chosen to leave up angler accessories...) while watching a whacked out customer run in and out of the fire door, obviously tweaked out on Tina, and the management do nothing bothered me. Upon coming home I called and expressed my concerns. I even stated they should consider a surveillance camera in the parking lot to discourage drug deals and car break ins. The Manager said "What can I do?" ... well this East Sider is going back to Peter Pan. Better clientele, good food and a great wait staff.
