We went to this place to try it out
since we were by the Hard Rock Casino. The first problem was the air conditioning, or lack thereof. It was extremely hot in this place and I suppose to cut down on costs the restaurant decided to cut down on the AC on a 95 degree day.
The chips came out then which were not hot at all. When we asked the server about this he told us that they only make chips once a day, unlike La Bamba and real Mexican restaurants which make fresh chips all the time. In short these chips were El Stale!
Nonetheless, our meals came out then and the food was okay but nothing to write home about. This place certainly wasn't in the same league as La Bamba or even Chili's for that matter.
Finally the bill came out and to our surpise they whacked us with an 18% automatic gratuity. Are you kidding me, we had only five people in our party, normally at least 6 are required to get stuck with an automatic 18% gratuity. The waiter told us they put the automatic 18% gratuity for everyone, even single diners, as it is listed on their menu in legalese-super fine print. Sorry I just thought I was eating Mexican food, didn't realize I was signing a contract. In short, this place was awful. They are really stingy with their portions, A/C, and drinks, but don't mind sticking it to you on the bill and the automatic 18% gratuity. I am happy to say Adios to the Tequila Ranch...never again!
DISGUSTING!!!!. I did not think you could mess up Mexican food, Tequila Ranch has proved me wrong. The waitress was nice, but something is terribly, terribly wrong with the kitchen and the management. We ordered an appetizer based on our waitress' recommendation. Our food showed up and no appetizer ever arrived. We each ordered a burrito. My bf had a chicken burrito, and I had a fish burrito. Mine was ice cold, as if it had just been pulled out of the refrigerator. There was no cheese melted on top as I ordered. I think they forgot to even put it in the oven. I never send things back, first time for everything I guess. The burrito came back and it looked much better. So, I cut into it and took a bite...it was chicken. I'm allergic to chicken and really never eat it. I went looking for the manager. I asked two hostesses to see the manager, Carlos Garcia. My waitress came back and was apologetic. I asked her to speak to the manager as well. The manager did not come. She brought me a third burrito and we asked for the check then because we had to catch a show. This burrito was finally correct, but the food was not good. Barely mediocre. When I saw the check, I asked for the manager a fourth time. Honestly, we were there for so long, experienced so many problems, the whole meal should have been comped, or at least the burrito. Carlos Garcia, the manager, still did not come over when I requested him again. Ridiculous. The waitress ended up taking off the burrito after I kept asking for the manager. I got the feeling he was off somewhere else and they were covering for him or he doesn't exist. The whole experience was terrible. I've eaten at many of the other places at Hard Rock (the blue plate diner, council oak, tau, johnny rockets...) and all have been pleasant experiences. This place was gross!
Awful, Poor Customer service, and Rude Manager!!!. My experience was awful... I order the Chicken fajitas and taco bell was better. The chicken was tasteless and rubbery. My two girlfriends that was with me almost threw up the food they ate... The drinks are horrible and my water with ice was much better... I complain to the manager cause they charge an 18 percent for poor customer service and rude manager.. Please DO NOT go to this restaurant....
Don't bother to complain - Just don't go.
Both the food and service are no better than a drive through. Ask our server Joe, they don't have the time to do what the customer asks. Write to Chef Carcia, but don't expect an answer !
With all the great eateries at this location this one is definitely one to bypass, unless you like Taco Bell!
