Lauderdale's Best Kept Secret!. The amazing waterfront view had me at hello! The waterfront dinner I had that night was AMAZING!!!! I had split-pea soup, a "Maryland Crabcake", and "Shrimp Fettucine Alfredo".....along with the great view, and the phenomenal customer service, the portions were enormous! I had food to eat for the next two days! I recommend it to all seafood lovers of Miami! You wont be disappointed!

The best darned chamboutini EVER!. OK. So I must admit that the amazing water-view nudged me into a 5-star rating, but I have to tell you. The drink that the bartender (and owner himself) suggested ROCKED! I wanted to try something different, so he asked me a few key questions: Sweet or not sweet, carbonated or not, etc. He analyzed my responses and handed me the best drink I have EVER tasted! A chambourtini! (Excuse my spelling, please). It was refreshing, tasty and yes....strong. After a hard day at work, it was so nice to go to a place that had relaxing piano music,a fantastic burger and that drink! I will go here again and again.

Senior Citizen crowd, Smells like mothballs, Food is average, Great Customer Service. First I have to point out that I did read the reviews stating the clientele of this restaurant was older. I thought possibly the reviewers went on a specific night that was frequented by senior citizens. Nope. This place is definitely the hang out of the local senior citizens of Hallandale Beach. They were taking turns singing by the piano. But, by about 10 pm, the place did clear out and since we were sitting outside, the singing didn't bother us as we were more entertained with the lovely intercoastal view.

The food however, was disappointing. I ordered the swordfish souffle expecting something light and fluffy and received swordfish with a mayonnaise looking sauce piled on top. I didn't eat it. My husband ordered a filet of mahi mahi and received fish with alot of spines, he didn't eat his either. The owner was incredibly sweet though and his customer service was outstanding. If the food had been a little bit better I would return as I didn't mind the crowd and I can't smell the mothballs from the outdoor seating. But I don't think the food will bring me to return here. It's a shame though as the owner was extremely sweet.

Senior Citizen Hangout. The previous reviews are completely misleading. We were looking for a "date spot" or a "romantic spot." Now, don't get me wrong - I am not an ageist - but , based upon the clientele, this place is not frequented by anyone under the age of 70. Based upon the reviews from this site, we went there on a Friday night for a romantic dinner on the water. Upon our arrival, literally, there was NOT ONE person under the age of 65 in the entire restaurant. Because we were looking for a different type of scene, we chose to go elsewhere. So, I cannot comment upon the food, service, etc.

best seafood restaurant in Florida!. The owner, Joseph Maggi, takes the reservations himself! He's the Maitre D' when you arrive and he seats you! He tells you all you want to know about THE DAY's CATCH!

The double 2-color tablecloths and furnishings make for a great ambiance. The views of the huge swimming pool and intra-coastal canal are formidable!(It may be too humid or too hot to sit outside.) The high-stool bar is wonderful for before or after drinks. It is frequented by friendly local condo residents. Joseph, himself, goes out-of-his-way to introduce you to everyone at the bar. The extensive menu shows a great variety of dishes at very reasonable prices!

"Sharon", the bartender, is very good at mixing, generously, any drink!(You may dine "solo" at the bar!

The $2.00 parking valet may be the only one IN THE WORLD at that price!

We've been there 2x...we'll be back!!! If Joseph doesn't change anything, we'll be there over-and-over!

Best swordfish ever. Great experience. Nice greeting at the door. Friendly service. I have been eating simply lately (South Beach Diet) and enjoyed the best blackened swordfish, fresh spinach and sweet potato, felt like a sinner, enjoyed every minute, pretty lady served sparkling water (turned out to be the owners wife) and kept on my Diet.

Highly recommended.

Upscale seafood restaurant perched close to the catch draws ritzy crowd to this Fort Lauderdale enclave.. The Scene
Retirees with savings to spare and couples looking for an upscale night on the town flock to this live-jazz joint for fresh seafood, swift service and a view of passing yachts. A grand piano dominates the raised bar area, which overlooks the cavernous restaurant dotted with red-linen-topped tables and wicker chairs. Outside, the few couples lucky enough to snag a two-top enjoy a panoramic view of the water and sailing yachts.

The Food
Standard seafood fare gussied up a bit for its environs: Crab cakes topped with curls of vegetation, which is more artful than edible; shoestring fries are seasoned with lemon pepper and fresh herbs--a perfect pairing with the filet mignon and a big side of kicked-up catsup. Lobster is steamed to sweetness and doused with lemon, herbs and butter (ask for it on the side if you prefer). Sushi-quality tuna gets a crust of sesame seeds.
