c'est pareil mais en différent. C'est comme george sauf que c'est johnny...
Delicioussssssssssss!. The food is just amazing! This is the first place in South Florida that see a cheese a cheese menu, and I'm a cheese fanatic! The selections are varied from all parts of the world. Everything we tasted was extraordinary, from the cheese to the tuna sashimi to the steamed clams, crown of lamb and the dessert. The service was also very good; it could have been because we were a big group and were ordering the most expensive items of the menu. The waiter was a bit snobbish at first, but loosened up a bit. I recommend this restaurant very much, the ambiance is nice, and it was crowded on a Saturday night.
Outstanding.
My friend and I are visiting the area from New York City, and we dined at Johnny V's last night. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. I started with the Maytag Blue Cheese salad, which could easily be the best salad I've had in my life (the bacon in it is cured with apple molasses). For my entree I had the Four Shells, which comes in a tomato saffron broth (no skimping on the saffron!). My friend had the romaine salad and a halibut special, and she was extremely happy with her meal as well. The entrees are far from run-of-the-mill at this place. They are extremely creative and different.
Our server, Juan, was perfect---friendly, knowledgeable, attentive---really great. And as if I need to say any more, they have a banana cheesecake bread pudding that should be illegal.... or fat free. The place is a bit pricey if you're budget-conscious, but it's definitely worth every penny.
Innovative Food, Bad Service. We went out here recently for lunch. The Lunch menu is unique and one of the better among Las Olas restaurants. Although we enjoyed our food the service left much to be desired. We ordered drinks from the bar and they had no bartender, so the waiter attempted to make our drinks - which turned our horribly. Being the only people there our food took a very long time to arrive (we ordered simple sandwiches). It seems to be understaffed for Lunch, perhaps Dinner is more enjoyable.
Very CLASSY restaurant.
We have passed this place many times going up and down Las Olas and "Who Knew?" Now we have this place on our top 5 restaurants in the area and would recommend this one.
Food was fantastic, turn around time was unbelievable, service was beyond expectation and price, well I was saying WOW when the check came as I thought it would have been a lot more.
There are three separate dining experiences as far as seating goes. Outside, Inside bar area, or the formal dining room in the back - all our excellent choices and offer a beautiful atmosphere to dine in.
We recommend that you have the waiter offer a suggestion for your wine choice based on your meal selection - they know there wines VERY WELL. Also, you must have there calamari as it is like no other you have had before.
Celebrated chef brings inspired regional cuisine and a sophisticated vibe to Fort Lauderdale..
In Short
Johnny Vinczencz cooks his flavorful favorites and new dishes in an elegant--think white tablecloths and dark banquettes--Las Olas locale. Corn-crusted yellowtail snapper, seared duck breast with risotto, barbecue shrimp, and wild boar ribs are just a few of the noteworthy entrees on the substantial menu here. But before and after, be sure to sample the cheese selections, his famous wild mushroom short stack, the shrimp martini and the excellent creme brulee.
