Rude waitresses – don't know her name but she'll stand behind the counter, see you are done with the meal, then keep watching people outside or in the restaurant. Go back to Honduras sweetie

Want a jolt? Cafe con leche the best in area! – The coffee's to die for, whether you just step up at the window, or go inside for one of the breakfast specials.

I usually go for the simple, like bacon and eggs. Comes with the usual, and home fries, the delicious cuban toast, and an endless cup of cafe con leche. For like $3. 95 can't be beat, since that java's gonna cost ya over $2.00 anyway.

Decor? Simple

Price? Cheap

Food? Very Good

Thumbs up for this place, and Juan, the owner, looks like he really cares if you enjoy. Come here over the weekend and people watch. Quite an eclectic crowd.

Las Colinas Cuban Cuisine

This Cuban diner located in Wilton Manors is a favorite with locals, police officers and gym boys. The decor is Latin American (lime green walls, large mirrors, tile floor and plastic flowers). The food is plentiful and distinctly Cuban/Caribbean. Las Colinas features a wide dining counter, a take-away window for a quick cefecito; and plenty of tables for dining.

While in South Florida for the winter, I go to Las Colinas at least two or three times a week. The food is consistently good, fresh and delicious. It’s the perfect place to bring out of town friends visiting during the winter. I brought my good friends Tony, Mike and Kevin to Las Colinas and they were pleasantly surprised. Surprised not only by the good food, but also at how reasonable the prices were!

The owner Juan greeted us and sat us down. He had us sample the oxtail special. Juan likes to make sure that people are well fed. He supervises the kitchen, servers and all staff. Food is his passion and it shows! The guys liked the oxtail meat, but opted for the pan de ropa vieja (shredded beef sandwich), Sandwich Cubano and I got the sandwich de pollo.

All meals start with of a basket of tostada Cubana, Cuban bread toasted. Most of the sandwiches are served with fries ( however, the classic Cuban sandwich does not come with fries) We got a side of arroz moros (Cuban black beans and rice), which were more than enough for the four of us!

The sandwiches are made with Cuban bread, stuffed with meat, and veggies. The sandwich I am holding is half of a chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich is whole chicken breast, shreadded lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions and topped with potato sticks. Grilled on a Cuban press by a Sandwichera. After our meal we got cafecitos and flan. The total for the check came to $32 for 4 people.

Great Food – I have eaten at Las Colinas 1 or 2 times a year for the past 5 years. I have always found it to be awesome! The Carne Asada, Ropa Vieja, even their salads are great. Oh, the Cubano sandwich is killer.

The neighborhood is gentrifying but I would not park and walk. If I cannot find a place in the lot, I go elsewhere.

Best Tostones in Broward County (Fried Green Plantains) – As a true hispanic, I tend to try every little or big latin restaurant by my house or work. Las Colinas has a variety of foods that are to die for from the Grouper to the Carne Asada (Grilled Steak). They take the time to recommend a meal and take pride in cooking it from Grouper to the Carne Asada (Grilled Steak). Their customer service is good and the waitress always have a smile on their faces.

SABOR CUBANO – The food.....excellent, The service......very hospitable, The atmosphere.....original, believeable; as if u were in LiL Havanna. If you want the taste of authentic Cuban/Latin food, Las Colinas is the place to go. The food is that of what Mom would make.....actually better..shhh make sure you never tell her that!!! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for real Latin cuisine at affordable prices. I have had other Latin food in Florida and it does not compare.....The Scrimp Scampi with Tostones and mojo are a personal favorite a must try for your first meal. If you are unable to have a sit down and enjoy the experience of this place don't fret, you can have a beer at the counter while you wait or place an order thru their pick up window.....But I highly recommend you go on in to fully absorb the experience of Las Colinas!!!

Closest, but not the BEST! – As a natually born Venezuelan living in Ft. Lauderdale/Wilton Manors, I've found that we're in the black-hole of latin food! Having more than enough to pick from in Miami, some really good places north of Pompano and just recently being graced by a Don Pan. When I moved to Wilton Manors, I was pleasently surprised to find Las Colinas, a Cuban/Latin restaurant within walking distance and centraly located. Although the food has never been the absolute best I've ever tasted, I was pleased with the fact that I was getting my latin fix regularly and able to let my expectations slip a bit. A few months ago, while attempting to subdue my latin food hunger, I ordered the "Ropa Vieja", shredded beef with peppers and a usually easy great taste. I don't usually eat there, instead order the food for pick-up and enjoy it in the comfort of my home. When I arrived home with my food and started to prepare for the chow-down, I noticed a slight smell of fish and ignored it assuming only that the smell had clenched to the bag or container. Once served and looking forward to enjoying it, I took my first bite, which was absolutely disgusting. My shredded beef tasted like fish!!! I didn't even know they serve fish!! Immediately I called them back and informed them of the situation to which they first requested I bring it back then offered to replace it a later time just by referring to the circumstances. Yesterday I was in need of a latin fix and called them to order and receive replacement of the food I was not able to eat last time. I was told that they wold not replace it due to the time passed between the incident and reordering. Again, I wasn't thrilled with the food originally and now found it not terribly hurtful to NOT eat there any more, but wanted to pass this information on. For those WIlton Manors' locals, check out "Punta del Este" - the food is more authentic and they won't charge you extra for those little things that should be included anyways!
