I visited with an out of town guest. There was a blackout and computer went down; not there fault at all. I wanted to submit bill to reward network. They would not give bill or receipt; not very hard to do. Still waiting after three days.
May seem very picayune to many but now it is the principal. I was even on the beach today, called and got put off. My wife walked over and same. This was Wed night . Be nice to get a response.
Deerfield's Gem – I have been to this bar several times and have always had a blast. The bartenders have always made me feel welcome and the fish tacos are the best I've ever had. If you're looking for a relaxed laid back environment with great music and good vibes, this is your spot! The drink prices are ridiculously cheap for being that close to the beach.
Bad Service – I and two girl friends went to the bar last night 09/25/2010. I stood at the bar for about ten minutes trying to order some drinks. The bartender who happened to also be a girl ignored me even after I waved to her. How rude. They weren't busy so there is no excuse for this kind of service. Thinking about it now all three of us were the only non white people there. One of us were asian and the other two from the caribbean. For a bar that promotes reggae music, I find it very discriminating. We left and went across the street to Oceans 234 where they were happy to have our business.
Horrible Customer Service and Dishonest Bar – Was visiting my friends who are locals in Deerfield. Heard they had great reggae music here at Kahuna's, esp. because they were young talented kids who were performing. Had a great time so we went back the next night. Two young waitress were working (1 Server: Rainy). It was a Sunday night (10/25/09) around 10 ish and it wasn't very busy. Took forever to get our drinks but I understand you can get weeded when working the bar. Since know one came up to our booth and the bartender took forever to acknowledge us when going to the bar.....we all decided to move on after the first round of drinks. The two young girls lost our credit card and tab; both were very nasty claiming we never gave them our credit card. What happen to great customer service and the customer is always right? After a few unkind words with our company and the two young girls it turns out they had the card the whole time. There was no apology from the two servers and both again exchange dirty looks and words with one another about our group. Now, looking at my bank statement today 10/27/2009 I was over charged more then what the receipt says. Unbelievable!!!! This is very dishonest and is stealing. Even if it is just 3.00 dollars it is wrong esp. when we have the copy of the receipt to prove! How do people get away with this. This situation will not be taken lightly. Regardless of any situation you should not steal from a customer and show great service esp. when they were in the wrong!

GREAT PLACE BUT... – I was just there on Friday the 20th of February. The music was great, the band was AWESOME and the crowd was ok too. I went with some friends, and paid a round 3 drinks, (a heineken, a budweiser and a coke) My total was 10 bucks, and I left cash for the tip... I was the designated driver and only spent that much there in the 2 hours of fun. Unfortunately when I checked my online banking, I found out that they charged me TWICE, one for $9.56 and another for $50, WHICH I DINDT SPEND OR SIGNED FOR. I have been trying to call the bar and no one picks up. I will contact my bank and go by there tonite to find out what HAPPENED! So to all those who will eventually check out the place (dont get me wrong, its worth it) just remember to check online later for your charges!
I'm glad you had a great time at our establishment and in answer to your question about the $50 charge, it was an authorization that is run when you begin your tab so we can be sure you have funds available on the card. We release that authorization when we close the card but most financial institutions will keep the hold in place anywhere from 24-72 hours.
We get that question often and that's why we print an explanation of it on the receipt and there is a notice about it posted at the bar as well, but i'm sorry if you were unaware of it.

Management at Kahuna Bar and Grill
I love this bar! – IT is an awesome place to go if you are looking for a fun, friendly atmosphere. Live music every night, fun flavorful wall of daquris, right by the beach! What more could you ask for? Good company, great prices, and an amazing time, sound good to you? Then go to Kahuna Bar & Grill in Deerfield Beach. I mean even the staff is wonderful; great people, with a great attitude. I love it there and frequent there every weekend.
