Great food they need a web site and a online menu but I love the food the people have always been nice to us and we like to order delivery and go in and eat.
The worst italian experience.
I have been eating vito's pizza since I grew up in Rockland county NY. This isn't the same vitos. In fact, it was a horror show.
To start we had calamari which had a hair fried into it and they didn't even apologize.
I paid for it prior to getting the meal, so I never got a refund or asked. At least offer to exchange it.
So we continued on with our meal. Out came our previously frozen eggplant dinners with spaghetti, even though my husband wanted ziti.
The sauce tasted like Ragu. So, we dumped it in a take out box and gave it to a bum down the street. Really, this meal was pathetic.
We will not return and we will spread the word. Vito, if your listening, you should teach your staff to treat the customers better, instead of just throwing out a piece of food with a hair. That was really gross and a terrible way to treat a customer
Horrendous Service - Will not be returning.
Let me put it this way: I've never even THOUGHT to write a review of any restaurant before, good or bad. In this situation, I'll gladly set the time aside specifically to inform anyone who actually values service and execution.
In our first Vito's experience (Plantation), we decided to order delivery this evening at 6:03pm (Sunday, 1/4/09). While ordering, the girl had to keep putting me on hold to check if they had standard items we were ordering from the menu. No big deal, maybe she's new. Put the $56 order on a card and was told 45 minutes - 1 hour.
1 hour 31 minutes later our food shows up. No dressing for the 3 dinner salads, No 2-liter bottle of soda. So, my boyfriend calls to request a refund to the card since the soda was never received. When we mentioned the soda was never delivered, the "manager" responded "Yea, so?" Not once did the "manager" apologize, he claimed to be listening as we asked 3 times if he was still there, and then said he refunded the charge already. But THEN proceeded to ask what our order was. So, how did he refund the card already without knowing the order?
After the phone call, I open my chicken marsala: that has zero sauce on it, just dry chicken, dry pasta, and dry mushrooms. So I do exactly what I DIDN'T want to do with my evening and get in my car to drive there. The place was DEAD, the two girls up front were too busy gossiping to acknowledge me, and the "manager" wouldn't even look me in the eye when I showed them my marsala. Still no apology, no offer to fix my dinner, just a toss of a cash refund for $15 of my $56 order. I'd still love to know how they tally their numbers if they're tossing cash back for a credit purchase.
I took the cash and bought my dinner at Publix at 8:15pm - 2 hours after I would have liked to quietly enjoy dinner at home.
Stay away from Vito's Gourmet Pizza in Ft. Lauderdale. Careful of these folks. I wonder if the boss knows how they are running the shop? They screwed up 3 straight orders for me. By the 3rd time, I complained vehemently! What would most restaurants do in response? Maybe offer a credit or meal on the house. At the very least, a sincere apology. Not Vito's. amidst their dirty fingernails, greasy counters, and unwashed lettuce, they got the message to me that I was not welcome in their restaurant! Can you imagine the unmitigated gall? Well, I'll take my business to any one of a dozen other Italian restaurants in the immediatea area. Vito's could have catered my office party. Instead, we used Anthony's Coal Fired up the street. Better food, and...much better attitude. I wonder how people stay in business like this? Spread thre word...I certainly will!
Decent food. Terrible attitude, and unclean!.
Most of their food is good. Problem is 2-fold:
1. They are arrogant. If you complain to them that they erred on your order, they chastise you. They offer discounts to certain customers, but,...forget it if you dare complain. They'll take your discount away. And,...they do screw up a lot, i.e. like giving you a small size Calzone, yet charging you for a large size & making sandwiches which are the complete opposite of "over-stuffed", i.e. very understuffed (in other words, mostly bread)
2. It's filthy there! Sandwich makers with dirty fingernails. They are supposed to wear gloves, but.....
I got sick every time I ordered their Chicken Ceaser salad, until I realized why,...namlely,...that they don't wash their lettuce.
You know, I thought it was me. But, after reading other reviews, it seems that there are many customers who feel the way I do. It's a shame. They have great potential. Unfortunately, the owner may not be watching the shop. His employees are running amuck with rudeness and uncleanliness.
For good food, OK. But, you may have to put up with arrogance and illness in the aftermath!
Real NY Pizza!!!!. Seriously, this is good pizza. It's the little hole in the wall pizza joint around the corner. Everything is fresh and consistently great.
