You'd be hard pressed to drive around the parking lot for more than 30 seconds without passing an SUV or minivan. Smack in the middle of central Broward, this is a hub for suburban kids and soccer moms. Professors and students from nearby colleges sometimes grab lunch in the ample food court. The offerings are comfortable and familiar. Dillard's and Burdines, JC Penney and Sears anchor and many of the smaller stores are teen magnets. Favorites are Pacific Sunwear, Urban Planet and the cheap, chic Charlotte Russe. Oh, and there's a Dollar Store.

This review is for Penney's in Pinellas County FL, not Broward but their policy is probably the same everywhere. I took back a Christmas gift marked $60. Clerk directed me to a long line where I waited half an hour. Finally, my turn. It took an old lady who should've retired long ago over half an hour to do this simple transaction. She needed help with everything, had to keep calling a supervisor. Line behind me was getting very long. Finally she gave me a card (voucher) for only $30. As incompetent as she was, SHE had the nerve to scold ME for a) being in the wrong line (I wasn't) and b) for not having a FL driver's license (my out-of-state license doesn't expire for 4 more years). Searched the whole store for something worth $30; couldn't even find a dress for that much. No bargains at all. What used to be a family friendly mid-priced store no longer is. I will never shop there again!
