We tried it out this year due to its location. Very dissapointed! Poor communication, rude. On one occasion I overheard the owner talking about how lazy the parents were because some children were late getting measured for their costumes. Are you kidding me?! The only thing they will be clear about is when tuition is due. I understand it is a business, but I truly feel like my daughter was only a drop in the bucket. This year they are having what will turn out to be a single 4-hour recital, for the purposes of saving themselves money, no doubt. Recital tickets range from $20-$27! For my husband and I to watch our daughter in one 2-minute dance, we are going to have to pay AT LEAST $40. We can't even afford to invite other family members.

This studio might be good for their company/competition students who attend every day, but for children who take one or two classes a week, it is terrible. The owners don't care about "once-a-weekers." Yes, they had a dancer from "So You Think You Can Dance." Who cares? How does that affect their relationship with my child?

Don't bother with this studio. Take your business elsewhere.

I don't know what dance studio the people below are talking about, but it's not Dance FX. This isn't just a family owned studio -- it's family-oriented as well. The atmosphere is very welcoming for the children. My children have been dancing here for years. Some of the alumni danced there for more than a decade and a half. That's a whole lot of time to spend at one studio. Obviously, they're doing something right. And very right at that. One of their former dancers is a finalist on FOX television's So You Think You Can Dance, and she continues to be one of the studio's biggest supporters. As for the negative reviews below, sounds like some people had an agenda in trashing this great place.

Dance FX is great home for kids to learn the art of dance and make lifelong friends. I was there for 10 years and now I'm an alumni who is attending college and dancing part-time all because of the great staff at Dance FX. Friends of mine that danced at Dance FX with me are now dancing at Sea World, Disney and are in various movies. Dance FX is a great studio, I'm happy to be part of it!

The reviews are true, Horrible Studio!!. If I could give this studio no stars I would. The owner and her daughter are the rudest and ungrateful people you will ever meet. You will often come in to find a filthy waiting area with tiny unattended children sitting watching television. Their way of teaching is if you want to pay attention then you might learn something but it isn't our job to help or inspire you. I would often come in and find my child sitting on the floor in the back of the class. If their unprofessional ways don't keep you away, then maybe their lack of organization and book keeping skills will. I have personally been called out by the owner in front of other people and accused of not paying when I not only paid but I had a receipt on hand. Listen to the warnings and stay away! My new studio is beautiful and filled with wonderful teachers and mothers who are extremely supportive.

Horrible studio!!!. Dance FX - What a joke this place, some random person at a store had told me not to try this place but I didn't listen, boy oh boy was she right!! What can I say very unfriendly and rude faculty, unorganized not the type of environment I would ever want to bring my child around. The new studio where I take my child has 3 parents that left this horrible place, that's sad!

Run don't walk away from this establishment!!!. I can't warn you enough to stay away from this studio. I don't know what's worse, their record keeping and being asked to pay for things you have already paid for or the lack of attention your child receives. Most of the classes are taught by teenagers still in school. There is never anyone looking to see how your child is doing, the classes are taught without any kind of correction done if your child is not properly executing the steps. You are constantly harassed to pay for things you have already paid for. I highly advise to stay far away from this studio; it is run by unprofessional and rude people.

GREAT STUDIO!!!!. Dance FX is instrumental in stimulating my daughter to be the incredible dancer she is becoming. The teachers come from a wide background- offering my daughter many styles to learn from. After being at other studios, I have found this one to be the most welcoming to new students. The dancers have a unique bond that has opened up a new social group for my daughter. I can't say enough about DFX. Anyone looking should give it a try.... it is soo worth it!

Unorganized and not friendly at all. What an unorganized place, and filthy too! The only reason I kept my child there is because she has a wonderful dance instructor Ms Lisa. But the problem is the owner she is rude. This woman has no clue how to run a place it is very unorganized, she is not professional and doesn't even acknowledge the fact that you are there as a new parent to the studio, that always made me feel unconfortable. After filling out 2 registrations (because they lost the 1st one) and 5 months of taking my daughter to classes they still didn't have our information on their system and I missed out on pictures and other events because I was never notified, all that owner did if she was ever there was sit in her office, there were many times there was nobody there and they had a 16 yr child running the class. I would never recommend this place to anyone because of the horrible experience I had with them. When it came time for the recital, they didn't order the correct size for my daughter and her costume didn't fit her because she was never fitted for one, I was told they didn't have much to choose from since she had signed up late to the class they would just take a look at her a be able to tell her size (she signed up in January) and the recitals are in June (if 6 months is not enough time then that's a problem) 3 days before her recital she told me she had a bigger size that somebody would trade, but she never told me it had been worned, stained and the straps were broken, I had already paid full price for a brand new costume and that was not a fair trade! The owner was very rude about the whole situation and didn't see my point and never even apologized for any of it. She just gave me the excuse that I had signed up late (again January) to the class and that's why you get the leftovers, well I should've been informed of this so I as the parent would've made my decision if I wanted my child to be part of that or not. Well at the end I got stuck getting the old costume the owner gave me dry cleaned and fixing the strap problem because the owner assured me she would get it fixed for me but never did! After all of that my child's name was not on the Recital Program, and when I brought it up to Ms Lisa the day of the show, she told me she would let the owner know to make an announcement, but she never did and when I asked her again at the finale, Ms Lisa said she reminded the owner Ms Joan but she chose not to do it! I would never recommend this place to anyone!!! Ms Joan the owner is unprofessional, rude and ignorant

Best studio in the sunrise/plantation area. thisnstudio has been around for over a decade and is one of the best studios around. it provides a fun and friendly atmosphere while the kids get a good and structured education this really is the the eat choice when chiding studio

Crowded, unorganized and not so friendly owner. My child has been going there for two weeks. I find the place to be very crowded, unorganized and cleanliness is an issue. My child enjoys the class and Ms. Lisa is truely a great instructor. The kids love her and she loves the kids. She is the only reason why I've stayed. The owner is not welcoming or friendly, doesn't even make an effort to acknowledge you even if you are a new parent and doesn't seem like she wants to be bothered providing customer service to the parents that are paying. I have seen her be friendly with the selected few but most times she is in her office. I've only communicated with her when I am paying and she seems annoyed then. If you are looking for a place for your child to just take classes this may be a good place. If you are looking for a dance company where your child can grow up in...look elsewhere.
