My boyfriend took me to Thai Spice last weekend for our two year anniversary, and the food was phenomenal! We started off with the pot stickers which had a delicious dipping sauce, then we split the skirt steak (It was recommended) which came with bok choy, and then we had fried bananas! The dessert was so awesome! They were something totally different and we had cashew ice cream with them. Overall our experience was fantastic! We will be going back to try some of the other items on the menu!!
Great!. Thai Spice is all about excellent food, presentation, service, and a lovely ambiance! You will get marvelous cuisine here! The experience is overwhelming whenever I am in Thai!
Fort Lauderdale's Absolute Best Thai Food Experience.
Goodness! Where to start? How about when you walk in, you're transported into another world...from the gorgeous aquariums to the beautiful Southeast Asian decor and subdued lighting, you won't find a more beautiful and romantic place in Fort Lauderdale.
Then, the food! Curries are killer, the fresh rolls sublime, the steaks magnificent, and the pad thai, well, perfect. Service is exemplary, and the staff is friendly.
Don't forget to go see Hootie the blowfish in the back aquarium.
A wonderful, almost mystical experience.
Great place for a romantic dinner.
I've been coming to Thai Spice for years now, and I must say, it's always a great experience. The ambiance is nice enough to make it a very romantic, low-lit restaurant to enjoy with your significant other. It's a very small restaurant, but I understand they are planning on expanding it (good move.)
The prices are a little higher than most Thai restaurants. A good gauge is how much the pad thai is--here, it's $16.00. I think it's a little steep for pad thai, but you do get a large portion, and the presentation is beautiful. I would highly recommend the skirt steak for $20. I ordered mine medium-rare, and I got a perfectly cooked, perfectly marinated very memorable steak. I gave my friend a piece, and he said "ohhhh, now THAT'S good steak." Also, their traditional Thai desserts are not to be missed. Try the roasted pineapple dessert with their homemade coconut ice cream drizzled with chocolate. WOW.
The one thing i wish would change is the very long list of specials that are recited for you before you start dining. It takes about 3 minutes to listen to, and to be quite honest, I can never understand the servers through their accents. Perhaps a shorter list of clearly stated specials may be in order.
Thai Spice is a great special occasion restaurant to take someone special. I can't wait to see the expansion of their restaurant.
Terrible service. Overwhelmingly the most terrible service I have ever experienced anywhere. Although having reservation, could not get any seat! Not so nice surprise after travelling from Lake Worth by taxi.
NO SEPARATE CHECKS!. Excellent food, presentation, service (most times) and setting; HOWEVER, the company does not do separate checks. I was there for lunch with four co-workers and the manager came to our table and said they didn't separate checks because it was too time consuming for the waiters. What a joke! At least give a valid reason, would you? It wasn't that any of us couldn't have paid the entire bill individually, it was the principle! How can you provide a service to the public and have such a ludacris policy AND no signs posted stating such? THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. We ended up getting separate checks, the waiter 'copped' an attitude and I will NEVER give Thai Spice another penny!
One of my favorites!. I consider myself a Pad Thai aficionado and this place delivers! The lunch menu offers great selection and prices! If trying Thai food for the first time, try the pad thai, ask for it medium hot (if you like spicy) as "hot" will get your mouth on fire! Wash it down with the sweet Thai iced tea which they have perfected and its what Thai food is suppose to be! A little heat tempered with something sweet.
Thai-licious!. I finally dragged my parents to Thai food and this was a great choice! They loved it, I loved it. Great little restaurant with helpful staff and really good food. The chicken with cashews and fresh ginger beef were incredibly yummy! Great prices.
Decent Thai. Overall a good night out. As far as south Florida Thai restaurants go, I'd say it rates a 9, but in the big scheme of things, maybe a 7. It's in a strip mall, which seems to be the norm, but once you are inside, you quickly forget where you are at. Service was relatively prompt, but they flat out forgot to bring 6 of our 10 guest's salads and started bringing entrees out before the mistake was realized. This mistake was compensated by deserts at the end of the evening, but still... Food was all in all really good. I typically enjoy hot food and found the second from the hottest, "hot," to be just about that. Makes your lips tingle, but not so unbearable that you can't enjoy the meal. Will I go back? Very likely, but I'd probably save it for a rainy day.
Great Thai. For a little while the food (flavor) seemed to be on teh down swing here but over the past 6 mos it is right back up there. A simple dish like chicken with black pepper and garlic shouldnt be this good! Best spring rolls I have had. Great thai soups (bursting with lemon grass flavor). Nice atmosphere but usually crowded (they are expanding into the next store thankfully). Get reservations...this place is busy cause they deserve to be. Great service.
