Not your typical American Italian, its good Italian.
Daydreaming about eating a canoli for several days, my craving finally got the best of me leading me to search the Italian restaurants in the area. A quick look of a few online menus, I decided upon Lirio’s. Not only was the handmade canoli a delightful and satisfying dessert, the Linguine Alle Vongole (six fresh Middleneck clams sautéed in red clam sauce over linguini) was simply delicious also. I have to say, this meal was probably one of the best Italian dishes I have had in a while. Besides a tasty bite, you will receive generous portions for a good price and that includes the canoli. Although I cannot say much for the ambience, since I placed my order to go, the bit I did see and how amazing the food had tasted, I will be dining in real soon.

Delicious, authentic Italian. Make reservations!.
Our timeshare office recommended this restaurant and we visited on Good Friday, unfortunately, without reservations. The place was PACKED! We had to sit outside -- the tables were small, and the metal chairs were extremely uncomfortable. We decided to have a drink and an appetizer while waiting for a table inside. The food was absolutely incredible! I ordered calimari and my husband had eggplant rotini. The portions were HUGE and delicious. With bread and delicious olive oil/herb spread, we didn't need to order a meal. We finished with expresso and shared a tiramisu. We were stuffed and delighted. The wait staff was extremely attentive, although we were outside, and without reservations. I would definately recommend Lirio's.
