What People Are Saying About Waffle House

In Short – Since 1955, this Atlanta-based chain has welcomed an all-hours crowd of shift workers, suits, regulars and late-night partiers with comfy booths and an extensive menu of Southern-accented home-style grub. Waffles (pecan or regular) are the restaurant's most popular dish. Other breakfast favorites include porterhouse T-bone steak and eggs, country ham, and signature hash browns cooked seven ways, from smothered with onions to topped with chili or cheese. Another bargain is the bowl of chili, which comes topped with onions, ham and cheese.
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- Formerly a cash-only chain, many Waffle House locations now take credit cards. If you're short of cash, be sure to check before you dine.
- The Extras:
- A kids' menu features smaller portions of menu staples like burgers, grilled cheese, and an egg with toast and jelly. For diet-conscious eaters, the menu also offers a "Light Corner" with items like grilled chicken salad.
The standard in Southern Hospitality and Friendly Service

I've been to Waffle Houses before. On long trips from Miami to Orlando or anywhere else, Waffle Houses have always been the must-go place for a nice breakfast. Nothing makes it absolutely stand out, but the food's good and that's what matters.
However, at this Waffle House location, they have more than just the food. They have the SERVICE. Last time my girlfriend and I went was for breakfast. From the time we walked into the restaurant, nearly every waitress, cook, chef, etc. yelled out "G'MORNIN!" It's something we still talk about to this day. We got lucky and got a seat right away, but most people had to wait 10-15 minutes before they were seated.
The food... well... it's Waffle House. Waffles, eggs, waffles, hash browns, waffles, etc. Nothing completely outstanding, but it's cooked just good enough to put them over the iHop's and Dennys' of the country.
This Waffle House location is definitely a place I will return to, even if only to hear the plethora of "G'MORNIN'S" from the restaurant's employees.
- Pros: Best service you can find in Davie!
- Cons: Good luck finding a seat on a weekend morning.
