I Would Avoid it!.
For the life of me I don't understand why tourists fall for this tourist trap! We got to the place and had to put our name down on a waitlist, but unlike a normal restaurant that gives you a pager and pages you when your table is ready this place screams your name out on huge, booming loudspeakers. It is extremely annoying. Have these people not heard of modern technology. Thank goodness they don't use cattle bells.
Anyways, we sat down and the decor is about what one would find in a miltary mess hall...in short it was a mess. All the money they've been getting from the 600 people a night that they pack in like sardines certainly has not been going into the decor.
The NE Clam Chowder was just okay and reasonably priced. However, I was suprised that the crabs were nearly forty dollars not for two people but just one--it was a 1 1/4 pound crab leg plate. This is insanely overpriced, I could get lobster elsewhere for that price with money to spare. Not to mention no salad is included and all you get are some heavily greased potatoes drowned in butter. Want to substitute? There is an upcharge for that.
I will say the Alaskan Queen Crab legs (AKA Alaska Snow Crab everywhere else) was good but again overpriced and they used the term Queen to jack up the price. At Red Lobster they are $21 for the same thing and same sized portion. Then everytime they announce a birthday diners bang their crab mallots on the table--if you didn't have a headache before you will definitely have one after.
The blue crab didn't taste good, the Florida crab was okay, and the Dungeness crab was pretty good. The key lime for desert was lame--surprising it was a house specialty.
The place is in a really seedy neighberhood, with such few parking spots that they need a parking attendant to help people back up and avoid hitting another car. Not to mention this place seems to attract a lower-end clientele.
Althought Red Lobster is not my favorite place, we could've had a better meal at Red Lobster without all the noise, commotion, hassles, dirtyness, and high prices. I would avoid this place at all costs!

Lousy Service and Mediocore food.
This place has changed and not in a good way. Rustic Inn Crabhouse was one of my favorite restaurants until Sunday . The 3 bowls of Golden crab we ordered were over cooked, dried out, flavorless and the shell was like rubber unable to break. The Manager came out and took the bowels back; my husband and son ordered a burger (which was over cooked) and I tried the crabs again. They were better but not worth $37. And Manger said he'd stop back at the table latter and NEVER DID. My husband and I walked past him 2x's and he never acknowledged us. The waitress once she brought the burgers out never once stopped back at our table. I had to track her down to get water. I can understand an off night in the kitchen but there is no excuse for LOUSY SERVICE. I was shocked when I got the bill. They didn't even comp. the lousy burgers, $70 for bad food and bad service! I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!!! Save your money and go somewhere else.

Best Local Seafood Restaurant.
My wife and I have been vacationing to the Fort Lauderdale / Miami area for the past 15 years. We stumbled upon this restaurant through the internet.....thankfully!!! We love it because it is a local favorite and not a "chain restaurant". The seafood was very fresh. We highly recommend the crab sampler. Generous portions and excellent quality. You gotta put in some work crackin' all those crabs. We left full and felt that the price was great. We recommend this place highly. It has a real relaxed and casual atmosphere too. I wouldn't dress too fancy if you plan on crackin' crabs. They have great lunch specials and the service was nice. We will always return to this place while vacationing here. It is definitely added to our list of favorites.

I have been going to this place since I was a child. Everytime I am in FL I always make sure to make at least one trip here. The place is huge, so much fun and the crabs are fantastic. Great place to go with Fam! Lots of things to choose from on the menu. Trust me you will love it here!!

Fun Place to Eat.
Worth a try, you'll like it! The garlic crabs are the best. Get a bib & hammer and smash away.
