ok food, huge portions.
The place is always crowded, the chips and salsa reach your table seconds after sitting down, but the food is only ok. The refried beans are so salty, I needed a sip of water with every bite. The rest of the plate didn't lack any sodium either. I ordered a vegetable burrito (which had to be special ordered since the large menu offers NO just-veggie options) the burrito consisted of 95% onions, which got to be a little overwhelming. Seems they don't offer veggie options because they don't actually have many veggies in the kitchen. The portion was gigantic, i took home one half so I basically got two meals for the price of one. I would go back, because overall it's a good place, just not the best in town by any means.

Always amazing.
The food is wonderful, and after going there for years, I have yet to be let down. The servers are very attentive, and the fajitas are the best I've ever had!

Just okay.
Not terrible, but not as good as I'd hoped. Despite an unassuming exterior, La Bamba draws huge crows, which is usually a good sign. The food unfortunately was just so-so: Too much cheese covered everything, and the refried beans had a runny texture. The fajitas my husband ordered were better, and came with tasty marinated chicken and nicely flavored vegetables. Room for improvement.
