food ok, but very pricey $$$$... not worth the money.
Decent food...but not great. Poorly run restaurant.
We made reservations and we were practically the only diners when we arrived at 5:30 PM on a Monday night. After checking in with the maitre'd he instructed the hostess to sit us at table #6. When he saw I wasn't tipping him (as I didn't see the need to tip to be seated in an empty restaurant) he abruptly changed our table assignment to table #12, which was situated in a high-traffic area near the kitchen. I can understand wanting to save nice tables for regulars or big tippers, but to blatantly change our table as we were walking away was pretty cheesy. This maitre'd was an older gentleman with what sounded like a British accent. Horrible way to start off a meal.
My wife noticed that the wine glasses were filthy. Not only those on our table but on neighboring tables as well. This sent alarm bells off about the management for this resturant. How could they not even have clean glasses, which I believe should be pretty near the top on the priority list.
Waiter was pretty good, and food was enjoyable, just nowhere near the quality that the prices on the menu suggest you'll be getting. Entree's were in the $30-35 range and some did not come with sides.
In summary, decent food and service, but you are paying double the price, even in Fort Lauderdale. And, oh yeah, the maitre'd glared at me on the way out as if he was still waiting for that tip. I would only go back if they changed management and dumped the ridiculous maitre'd.
Great Restaurant. You can eat out side by the water watching boats go by. The king crab and stone crab is excellent. It is expensive but it is worth it. Eat outside in the evening when it is getting dark is my suggestion. Great restaurant.
