The Scene – Flickering candle lamps, dark woods, polished Mexican tile and gracious service make Vico one of the most romantic small restaurants in South Florida. Three cozy rooms have ceilings that open into a glowing faux-evening sky; walls are painted terra cotta and decorated with photos of celebrities. Place settings include exquisite unmatched hand-painted plates, cobalt blue glasses and starched linens. The family that runs Vico treats every customer like an honored family member. – – The Food – The excellent, reasonably priced Italian fare includes antipasti,…
Editor's Tips
- What to Drink:
- Chianti is the wine of choice here--the list includes the finest. If you're on a budget, try the Gabiano ($24), a fresh, inexpensive table wine that complements almost everything.
- Look Good:
- Don't forget to make that reservation--locals grab up the tables early.
- Where to Sit:
- A VIP room, which seats up to 20 people, is available for private parties and special events.

Great Atmosphere, Delicious Food

I have come back to Cafe Vico time and time again, and it has consistantly been good. I especially recommend the fish dishes, paired with a white wine. During the day, it's perfect for a business lunch, and at night you can go for a romantic dinner. The Tiramisu is the best (and I've had a lot of Tiramisu).
- Pros: food, service, ambience, Tiramisu
- Cons: can be hard to find if you don't know where it is
I LOVE CAFE VICO!!

If i had to guess how many "Authentic" Italian restaurants I've tried around here it would be well over 2 dozen.....and for the money, none of them are even in the same ballpark as Cafe Vico. We go for business lunches to romantic dinners. The owners are fantastic people and will gladly have a glass of wine with you after closing!! Order anything from veal saltimbocca to the osso buco, you cannot go wrong. As weird as it sounds, their lasagna is leaps-and-bounds better than all the others that I've tried....sorry Mom. If nothing else, try it for lunch to save some money -- you will not regret it!
One of the Best Italian Restaurants

A wonderful, charming restaurant where you are greeted in a warm, friendly manner. The fish dishes are always excellent - particularly the Chilean sea bass. The veal dishes are also excellent. The staff are all very helpful and friendly and give you impeccable service. As an Italian I find their dishes to be authentic.
- Pros: Great service, authentic food
- Cons: Pricey wines
