Jade Palace NEEDS to SHUTDOWN.
This restuarant unfortnately set the mood for how my New Year's Eve turned out- MEMORABLE for the WRONG reasons. We usually go to the fantastic PF Chang's across the street, BUT decided to try somewhere different for New Year's. Worst choice we've ever made for dining in our entire lives. Front parking lot was empty and had an inconvenient entry. My boyfriend and I walked in and the hostess was not hospitable, just blah. The decor was nice, so I was looking fwd to enjoying it. The lighting was too dim as she escorted us to our table in the back.
My boyfriend ordered Pork fried rice with some Sweet & Sour Chicken I think, and I ordered Chicken & Broccoli with white rice and a Coca Cola.
The Coke came first....ugh....as soon as I saw the mini bottle's labeling I knew something was up. It looked like an imposter Coke, different font and it was faded and old. I checked the expiration date and it was safe, but I was still skeptical. I poured it into my glass and tasted it. It was purely FLAT and didn't taste like Coke! I was insulted bcuz I'm a Coke expert. My boyfriend didn't believe me and i didn't want to cause a frenzy, but I asked the rude, bored waitress for a replacement. She had an attitude but brought a new one. Again, flat and not Coke! I was fuming by this time and made him taste it. He agreed. Waitress took it back and returned with another and indicated she tasted the last 1 and believed me. I sipped the 3rd bottle and was finally satisfied with the Authentic Coke and an authentic can.
Food arrived lukewarm. My Chick&Brocc sauce had a jelly consistency as if it was defrosted but not thawed completely and the chicken was sooooo pale. I was afraid to taste my food. His food appeared normal, but dry, especially the fried rice. It didn't glisten and had no seasoning or veggies, or condiments. It was pathetic fried rice. 5 minutes later when I told him my food was already cold he decides to tell me his chicken was frozen. I gasped and touched the inside of his chicken- FREEZING!!! I threw the fork on his plate and stormed towards the kitchen. To no surprise I didn't see any staff. Finally a waiter saw me and asked to help. I took a few deep breaths to not take it out on him and asked for a Manager. A pretend Manager eventually showed up, meanwhile the family across from us was freaking out because their food was still being prepared in the kitchen as they waited anxiously listening in on us. The Manager didn't believe me, so I made him touch the chicken and said we refused to pay for his meal and only left him money for my disgusting meal that I barely touched. We stormed out. I was furious that they had the nerve to call themselves a restaurant and continue to remain OPEN. My poor boyfriend...he was scared to tell me about the frozen chicken but wasn't sure why he was being so nice for awful service. It has taken me until March to write this, but I don't care. I'm going to have someone from a newspaper or news station dine there anonymously ASAP.
Save your money BAD BAD BAD FOOD!!!!!. Waiters are nasty. Don't spend your money there. This is THE WORST make believe Chinese food I have ever eaten. No stars. They should have closed years ago. Anyone with good taste would not support this awful Chinese restaurant. The canned Chinese food in the grocery store is better than this place!!!!
Bland food. No taste. No chracter, usually fast food chinese in food courts is better. But service was good. Clean interior. Variety of dishes, we ordered General Tsao chicken, chicken lo mein, beef dish, soup, and ribs. Portions are good size.
