This turn-of-the-century former trading post, post office, and town hall is the oldest house in Broward.. In Short Frank Stranahan jumped in the New River in 1929, despondent over health concerns and finances that were heavily damaged by the Hurricanes of 1926 and 1928. Ivy eventually turned
the house into a restaurant; it passed to the city after her death and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Today, it is open to the public several days a week and is available for weddings and private parties.…
