great spot. I was traveling thru Las Vegas and came across a gentleman by the name of Stephen Horne also known as Capt. Lasagna and he said if I ever get to Fort Lauderdale to be sure to stop by the Downtowner a real friendly place with good food and great conversation and to ask for Big John the owner and tell him Steve Horne sent you. Well I did make it to the Downtowner and it is a great place. I am sorry to say however that Stephen D. Horne has passed away as of Feb. 10th at hte age of 84., he was a real gentleman and boating enthusiast, God Bless Mr. Horne and the Downtowner.

Casual Riverside Dining. The Downtowner Saloon has a real neighborhood feeling. Casual riverside dining with monday's being prime rib night. The outside dining area provides an added charm of watching the boats go by on the new river.
