Ignorance is a very poor foundation upon which to build an opinion or make an argument and you are obviously ignorant of the roll that the management company played in the 911 flag drama. As a former board member of one of the associations that Benchmark manages, I can assure you, without any doubt, that, contrary to your thoughtless statement, the management company certainly DOES NOT have the “…the ability to amend or change the rules of the HOA.” The management company acts only as an agent of the association and must take its instructions from the association’s board of directors. Also, you should know that president of the management company was the person who worked hardest to influence the board of directors to reverse their original decision. The police officer is now permitted to fly his flag and the management company should be credited with having resolved the conflict. You should be as quick to retract your harmful statement as you were to make it. An apology from you is now in order. Only time will tell if you are gracious enough to write one.
911 Flag. After hearing about the harassing letter that a 911 police officer recevied from your company about the flag that honors those who died in the MOST tragic event in US history was very disturbing to me. Comments that were made by a representative from your company saying that until the rules are changed he can only fly one authentic American Flag. However the flag that was shown is authentic in its own right. You as the company have the ability to amend or change the rules of the HOA. As a citizen of the USA I am embarssed by your company and those who have made the complaints.
