Great Place. I ate here for the first time and the name speaks for itself. If you eat here once you will want to go back for more and more. Great taste and reasonable prices. Its famous in my book. Two thumbs up.

Best Sandwich Ever. I have eaten at Sonny's for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Who cares if they only take cash or don't serve fries! I enjoy their salad with my sandwich and love to dip the bread in their dressing. I don't get the negative reviews but we know Philly people can be tough. A family run, neighbor restaurant with great service and great food.

Sonny's Famous Steaks Hogies, but wheres the fries?. I really enjoy a good meal, and this restaurant does not disappoint. The cash only thing really gets to me, kinda makes me wonder if people are paying taxes, especially after they are charging tax. More importantly I really need french fries with a hot sandwich, not chips.

I hope others out there agree with me and I'm not just too opinionated.

Yummy Steak Hoagies. I don't understand the negative reviews for this amazing sandwich stop. The amount of people that visit is enough proof that they are doing something right! It's always fresh & served with a friendly smile!

Worst Cheesesteak I've ever had and I've had thousands. I am a Philadelphian, born and raised. For those familiar with cheesesteaks in Philly I was raised on Geno's and Dalessandros in Roxborough. I'm reticent to give cheesesteaks outside of Philly a chance, but I decided to try Sonny's out since I had hear so much about it.

It was terrible. The cheesesteaks are small, the rolls are hard, the meat is bland and there isn't enough cheese. It was the worst cheesesteak I've ever had anywhere. And what amazed me was the place is packed! This shows there are a lot of people with no clue on what a cheesesteak is.

Although I'm yet to find one in Florida that's even close to an average cheesesteak in Philly there are 2 that are significantly better than Sonny's:

1. Westshore Pizza in the Tampa Bay area

2. Spanky's in Oakland Park

They aren't very good for Phillly cheesesteaks, but they're a good alternative if you're in Florida and are dying for a cheesesteak.. Stay away from Sonny's, though. Their sandwiches are an absolute disgrace.

Can't believe everything you read or hear.... I could not believe it when I got my sandwich from this place, after being on television and the reviews from others...obviously no one knows what a GOOD cheesesteak really tastes like. Now this is S. Florida and understandably you are not going to get a REAL PHILLY cheesesteak here...but there area places that come really close to it...THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! The meat was tough, the vegetables (onions, peppers, mushrooms) did not compliment the sandwich, and the tomatoe sauce they use is awful in flavor and would make pasta scared. "Sonny's Famous..."? More like Infamously bad...

Best Customer Service and Steaks!. I went to Sonny's for the first time ever yesterday. I was late getting home from work and I was trying to get home quick to catch the Phillies game. When I got to Sonny's I had no cash and I did not know it was cash only. Instead of making me drive to an ATM, they let me go with my cheesesteaks and told me that I could pay them back later. How cool is that!!! I have never in all my years had a restaurant be so understanding and generous!!! And of course the cheesesteaks rocked too!

Sonnys Steak Hoagies Hollywood. We just ordered some hoagies for lunch at work today. They were great as always. fresh rolls, generous portions of meat. delicious! Ready in 10 minutes.

BEST meatball hoagies around!!!!!!!. I LOVE their meatball hoagies. I grew up in this neighborhood and have eaten many meatball hoagies. Never get tired of them. It stinks that I'm now in AZ and can't get one of these. The first stop I make when I go to FL is to Sonny's and the GREAT meatball hoagie. You will never get a better meatball hoagie anywhere. LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!
