If you wear black glasses, read or write poetry and wish you lived in the East Village, you belong here..
The Scene
What Central Perk is to "Friends," Warehaus 57 is to those who'd never, ever watch "Friends" because they consider it to be a vapid, insipid, and shallow portrait of 30-somethings living in New York.
The Skinny
There's live music on Friday and Saturday nights, and the rules say that musicians must perform their own work. Same goes for writers who read their stories, poems and assorted rantings on literary themed nights. Published author John Dufresne hosts a monthly workshop here for those too insecure in their writing to read out loud.
The Extras
What's a coffee house without the coffee? Cappuccino, wine, beer, and even healthy snacks are available. And if your threads are just too trendy for the place, there's a selection of rad leather goods for sale. The used books for sale might even help you brush up on your reading skills.
