WOW! The OWNER has HORRIBLE customer service skills!!. This was our second time at Fulvio's 1900. Our first experience here was on Valentine's day. The waiter was very knowledgable about the menu-our overall experience was great, so great that we decided to bring my Dad to the restaurant. The waiter we had this second time was also very knowledgable and attentive up until we got our entrees, we did see him one time after that. We were disappointingly met with a very nasty attitude from another server who took our dessert order. We then waited in excess of an hour for the check and when I approached someone on the floor I unknowingly spoke to the owner, who was extremely condescending and rude. I will never be back. You can be sure that I will be telling EVERYONE never to dine here- EVER. :) For Florida, the food is OK, but the twenty Italian restaurants down the street from my house in Jersey make this taste like a decorated McDonald's Chicken Parm Sandwich!!
Better than New York. Located in quaint downtown Hollywood, Florida, this little gem of a restaurant is worth the drive from Miami or Boca. The calamari is a pleasant deviation from the fried variety. Instead it is lightly breaded and then sauteed with peppers and onions in a savory tomato sauce. Veal Chop Pizzaiolo is to die for, succulent and spicy. Snapper Francese is the best I've ever tasted. If it's not on the menu, ask Junior (Fulvio Jr.) and he will make it for you. Cheesecake is house made and served with fresh berries. Nothing plain about this dessert. Strawberry panna cotta with cracked pepper makes a nice ending to any meal. New to the menu is the cheese plate. Let them pick it out for you and ask for Mama Carmen's fig marmalade. The wine list rivals any in Florida or New York. Fulvio has some gems hidden in the room upstairs that he might let go of for a price. Bon appetit!
Fulvio's 1900. A friendly family-owned restaurant which combines consistently excellent food with warm intimate ambience. You will be greeted at the door by Mom, Carmen who will know your name after your second visit. Behind the stoves is a crew of young men led by Fulvio Jr., a Johnson and Wales graduate. And pulling everything together is Dad, Fulvio. Don't miss the giant veal chops, house special chicken ball stuffed with zucchini, spinach and ricotta cheese, homemade butternut squash ravioli, snapper steamed in parchment paper, changing nightly specials and Fulvio's homemade desserts, especially his gelate.
