Shopping >Flowers By Tony
Late Delivery Impaired Gift. I purchased a $91 (including tax and delivery) arrangement. The flowers were reasonably nice. However, the (local Hallandale) delivery was four hours after the latest specified and agreed-to delivery time (I made the purchase nearly a week in advance). This negated much of the value of the gift (flowers for a friend's dinner party). I will use a more reliable florist next time.
A Troop Review from Afghanistan.
I'm presently deployed with the Canadian troops in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
I had ordered through the internet a bouquet of roses for Valentine's day for my wife who is spending the winter in Hallandale.
She was very pleased with the bouquet that she received but after just a couple of days they started to show signs of fading away.
Being on the other side of the world, you can only feel helpless when you see that your wife is upset.
Even though she speaks very little English she decided to go directly to the flower shop and show what was happening to her roses.
She has told me that she received an excellent after sales service and the Flowers by Tony graciously accepted to give her another bouquet of roses.
She was literally thrilled with the fact that she had received another dozen roses.
It is hard for me to explain in words how much I appreciate the way that they have taken care of my wife.
Thank you for the excellent service.
Best regards to all of your employees.
A little battle, but an excellent outcome!.
My husband and I were married 11/2007; I consider myself a bride with expensive taste who believes that most things in the world are way over priced. Three times I went to Tony to see the arrangement for our centerpieces. Three times the were not right. I finally took a photo of exactly what I wanted, everything from the arch for our wedding, to the flower girl, to the bridesmaids, and centerpieces, made a book of everything and handed this to him and said this is the exact picture, the exact flowers, the exact way I want it done. He was stressed, I was stressed. And it was a difficult time, as my husband and I wanted exactly what we wanted. We paid $125.00-135.00 approx. for each arrangement I believe for each table and the flowers were in the most beautiful tall tangled branch stand. We had roses gallore in a round arrangement and there were very few other flowers, but there were lillies and filler flowers to help with the roses that were used. They were the one of the most beautiful arrangements that I have ever seen in a wedding and our guest were in awe and stated it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been too. Even though I had to battle a little to get them, they were stunning and our reception was amazing to see. For the square "archlike branch" thing we were married under. I wanted the same reds/oranges, etc and he gave me that. It was pretty. We wanted a huppa but we only got a smaller 3 tiki like square, but it was nice. That was the only thing I was disappointed in. And had I listened to Tony, it would have probably been more beautiful to have white hydrangias on the huppa in abundance for the impact. Just not as our centerpieces. But when he could not get the chairs I ordered, he replaced them with the most beautiful rich wooden chairs with no extra charge. We never had to pay a $200.00 charge for centerpiece trials that I can remember and he showed them 3 times before I came in with a picture. It was a little battle. But all in all, we were left with one of the most beautiful weddings, flower centerpieces and memorable!
It is common for florist to use more filling flowers to makes these arrangements , like hydrangias. You bigger arrangements and it allows the florist to make money. I get that! People just need to remember that if you want something, yes, you will have to pay more. Roses are more as well as more exotic flowers. What you pay dictates which type of flowers you use. A little over a week before the wedding, I had to be firm and bring pictures, if I hadn't I would probably not have been so happy. But the outcome was absolutely outstanding. And I didnt mind paying the extra for the centerpieces. And another positive, Tony didn't charge the same put them up and take it down fees that everyone else did. He provided the Chavari Chairs, linens, all the flowers (girls, guys, centerpieces, cake, extra on the table, candles, wedding) for under $6,000. We were very please with the end result. We still have people talking about our beautiful wedding even today.
Horrible Flowers, Horrible Service. I selected Flowers By Tony to do the centerpieces for the tables at my wedding because my cousin was also going to use them for her upcoming wedding. First off all, they required a $200 deposit to do a "trial centerpiece". After scheduling an appointment, paying the $200 and waiting at least half an hour for this trial centerpiece, they showed us a sad looking measely looking centerpiece which consisted of mostly baby's breath. I reminded Tony that I specifically told him that I did not want baby's breath to which he replied that it would be a lot more expensive to take the baby's breath out of the arrangement and add other flowers. For $200 per centerpiece we expected nicer service and a nicer arrangement. They even refused to give us our $200 deposit back and claimed that it was non refundable and it was so bad that we left it on the table and walked out. They were very rude to us also, and the prices they wanted to charge were astronomical. Needless to say I went elsewhere for my flowers where I paid much less and received the most beautiful centerpieces I could have ever imagined. My cousin wasn't so lucky. The centerpiece flowers at her wedding from Tony were wilted and I heard other people saying that as well. Stay away from this florist. I am surprised that they are still in business. Definitively a rip-off!
TONY HAS NO TALENT!.
I ordered a "premium" arrangement for my mother for mother's day and paid $80.00 plus delivery, etc. When it arrived my mother said "I hope you didn't pay too much for it". I asked her to send me a photo of the arrangement. Not only did the arrangement look like it had been put together by a 7 year old, but it was the same size as the "as shown" picture for $49.99.
I called to ask what the difference is between "as shown" and "premium", they said a bigger vase and that the vases (a clear glass square) are expensive.
What a joke. Do yourself a favor and order your flowers elsewhere. Flowers by Tony is a rip off.
